The Japanese from Suzuki have long and successfully used the achievements of their senior partner Toyota. So this time they didn’t get particularly wiser. They limited themselves only to redesigning the design of headlights, bumpers and the “grill”. And remembering the success of the previous generation model, they named the newcomer Grand Vitara. Otherwise it is the technical twin brother of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. At least in terms of platform and power structure anyway.
The debutant only exceeds the current Vitara in wheelbase by 100 mm (it is still officially on sale for around 2.8 million). It is noticeably larger in other dimensions. Under the hood is a 1.5-liter Suzuki K15C engine with a 48-volt starter generator for 103 “horses” and 137 Nm of torque. The gearbox is a six-speed automatic. The drive is complete. Everything we love.
The salon Grand Vitara also almost completely repeats the Highrider. The car features a 9-inch Suzuki Connect infotainment system and a 7-inch instrument panel. It seems relatively good these days for a big and solid Japanese crossover with decent off-road capability.
