Belarusian crossover BelGee X50 goes to Russia

The BelGee company, which produces the Chinese Geely, has stopped production of the Coolray model. Now the factory is instead assembling a crossover called the BelGee X50. This is basically the old Coolray, but with different nameplates and a greater degree of localization. And the most interesting thing is that the new old SUV will also be sold in Russia.
The car’s radiator grille now displays the emblem of the car factory based in the fraternal republic, and BelGee is now displayed in place of the large Geely debossed on the trunk lid. In addition, the Coolray nameplate has been replaced by the X50 sticker and the Chinese logo has disappeared from the windows of the car.
The Belarusian car dealerships should arrive next week. It is expected that these will be top versions with a black body color. As for the technology, it has not changed: the well-known 1.5-liter 150-horsepower supercharged engine, coupled to a 7-speed “robot”, works under the hood.
According to the portal Quto.ru, our Geely Coolray and BelGee X50 crossovers will be sold in parallel. Copies under the Belarusian brand will appear in the second half of this year. Packages and prices will be announced later.
There is reason to believe that the current Coolrey will remain under the BelGee brand and that a restyled version of the crossover will be launched under the Geely name. It is distinguished by a different appearance, a completely new interior and a more powerful four-cylinder engine.
