Companies are working to offer more and more technologies to improve the usability of their products. Samsung announced its new storage system UFS 4.0 (universal flash) based on memory standard JEDEC. The company said that the new standard is perfect for equipping smartphones using 5G networks, and will also be indispensable for devices in the virtual or augmented reality segment, as well as for use in automotive operating systems.
The model will offer speed up to 23.2 Gbps per layer, and may even surpass some NVMe SSDs found on the market. OUR UFS 4.0 count from Sequential read up to 4200MB/s and sequential write up to 2800MB/ss, its power efficiency is 46% higher than UFS 3.1 standard, which provides 6.0 MB/s per mA transfer, with a chip sized 11mm x 13mm x 1mm, The mass production of the product is expected to begin in the third quarter of this year, with storage capacity reaching 1TB.
“URGENT: Samsung has developed the industry’s highest performing Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 4.0 storage solution, which has been approved by the JEDEC Board of Directors. What is UFS 4.0 and what does it mean for the future of storage? Read on to find out more.”

The government has announced plans to commercialize the technology in 2028.
Find out what the company has to say about UFS 4.0.
“UFS 4.0 offers speeds of up to 23.2Gbps per layer, double that of the previous UFS 3.1. This bandwidth is ideal for 5G smartphones that need to process large amounts of data and should also be used in future automotive, AR and VR applications.
With advanced 7th generation Samsung V-NAND memory and proprietary UFS 4.0 controller, it will deliver up to 4200MB/s sequential read speed and 2800MB/s sequential write speed.
Energy efficiency has also been improved. UFS 4.0 delivers 6.0 MB/s per mA sequential read speeds, up to 46% faster than the previous generation, so end users can make better use of their battery life.
Last but not least, UFS 4.0 will come in a compact package with maximum dimensions of 11mm x 13mm x 1mm for better space efficiency and design convenience, and will also come in a range of capacities from 1TB.”
