The Russian new truck market is undergoing a huge transformation: in April, total sales of Chinese brands grew by 95%. This, in turn, allowed them to increase their market share to 18.4%, that is, immediately – by 3.5 times!

As the European Union banned the export of trucks to Russia, domestic hauliers began hastily looking for an affordable alternative to the vehicles of the Big European Seven, including Volvo, MAN, Scania, Mercedes, DAF, Iveco and Renault.

Therefore, the domestic Ural (+31%), the Chinese Shacman/Shaanxi (+506%) and Howo (+180%), as well as the Korean Hyundai (+33%) increased significantly. Although total heavy commercial vehicle sales fell 44%.

In addition, in April, the market for new light commercial vehicles, ie light commercial vehicles, actually collapsed: fewer than 5,000 cars were registered, according to the Avtostat agency! That is 65% less than a year earlier. But second-hand spread very cleverly.
