Tire fitting estimates: what they get from tires in Russia
For tire mounting in Russia, unfortunately, they go much more than twice a year. Even new, apparently Kevlar-protected and extremely reliable tires do not in themselves guarantee that “road joy” will not cause the flat tire indicator on the dashboard to light up. “Catch” everything, regardless of diameter, radius and ground clearance. In addition, from time to time real artifacts are found in the wheels, which tire fitters even collect.

Going on a trip or even just traveling around the city, you need to understand and accept: “something of something” will be in the wheel one day, then the foreign body must be sorted out and the tire repaired. Reinforced cord, they said, Kevlar fiber, extra layers, a special rubber compound. Russia, we say, and we get closer to the truth. Unfortunately, roads are not cleaned after accidents, garbage flows from vehicles, and not only citizens themselves are not yet accustomed to value “transport arteries” as their property and, as a result, respect cleanliness on the side of the road and in the lane.

So a flat wheel is a common, regular concept and not surprising at all. Spare wheel, key, jack, mounting tires – a sequence of actions that have been honed over the years. At least on the Moscow ring road, at least in the “milt” outback. It is much more interesting and even more fun to look at the “element base” that tire mechanics extract from tires when performing repairs: here is an assortment, a story about which you can become an evening decoration in a good garage.

Blow, pop, indicator and well, hell, the renowned champion in the rear axle. Slowing down, we “caught”, the road gave its fine, independent of photo and video cameras. Time to swear and get dirty. A stump of a car part sticking out of a tire is respected for its size and finish: it is no different that the German car industry has left a particle of itself in the third lane. We collect “good leftovers” and go to the nearest master, because it is not customary for us to move without a spare wheel. Itself is more expensive.

When pulling out a bent piece of iron, the specialist expresses much less emotion than the victims. Yes, iron is impressive, but there are also many more extravagant cases. Most, of course, “get around” with trivial self-tapping screws, which easily and naturally dig into worn tires and do their dirty work.

But there are also real unique ones that take their place on the “Honor Board” – a magnet glued to the iron wall of the box. It is not interesting to describe the whole range of hardware stored there. As however and a great variety of different hairpins. But the nozzle in the form of a small torx – this is already curious. By the way, there were also full-fledged screwdrivers! In Russia they extract medical instruments, compasses and even, as the tire mechanic said, a fragment of the emblem of a car brand from tires.

But the highlight of his collection, honorably displayed in the most prominent place, is a hatch from a truck. Well, what should be the wear of the engine so that it sprinkles asphalt with “garbage”? Or maybe the accident was so strong that the engine fell apart? However, from a traffic point of view, other questions are much more important: when will these “treasures” disappear from our roads and who will be responsible for punctured wheels and “overtime” of motorists?
