Cars of Iranian origin in Russia, if they appear, then for a short time and on a minimal scale. It seems that this way has become a trademark of the Persian car industry.

Cars of Iranian brands, such as Iran Khodro and Saipa, had and still have a great chance to occupy a serious niche in the Russian car market. It was brought to them last year by a friendly exodus from the land of European, Korean and Japanese brands. As well as AVTOVAZ’s “drug addiction” from the supply of foreign components. But it seems that everything is aimed at the Persians not being able to take advantage of this gift of fate.

The opportunity for them is rapidly diminishing due to the protectionist actions of the Russian authorities on recycling levies and the devaluation of the ruble against foreign currencies – with the actual knowledge of all those same officials.

It is not known whether the Iranians are aware of the bitterness of losing the potentially huge Russian market for budget cars, including for them. But domestic motorists should really regret the missed opportunity to get to know cars from Iran.
