The Chinese brand Jaecoo, one of the many sub-brands of Chery, will debut on the Russian market in September: the J7 crossover will be the first sign. And on the eve of the premiere, the manufacturer revealed some technical details, which told more about the all-wheel drive system.
For example, representatives of Jaecoo promise the Russians “impressive off-road performance”, and in particular, the intelligent all-wheel drive ARDIS (All Road Drive Intelligent System) should offer them. It reportedly includes an IPB brake servo that activates the rear axle 1.5 times faster than the competition. And the response time of the system simulating the operation of the differential lock does not exceed 0.1 seconds.
The ARDIS system is claimed to withstand extreme temperatures and altitude. In addition, the torque can be distributed automatically between the axles, regardless of speed. And the same IPB servo also guarantees effective deceleration on any road surface – supposedly even without vibration.
Another curious thing is as many as seven driving modes: economy, standard, sporty, off-road, as well as “snow”, “sand” and “dirt”. And, of course, impressive fuel consumption when the engine is spinning all four wheels – only 8.2 liters per 100 km in the combined cycle.
As for the power couple, it’s still a question. Jaecoo representatives promise to reveal specifications closer to the start of sales, scheduled for September. But it is assumed that the J7 will be equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo engine with an output of about 200 hp. Of. and a seven-speed “robot”. Prices are also unknown.
