The company Coskunoz Alabuga, part of the large Turkish holding company Coskunoz, has started the production of suspension parts in Tatarstan. So far, AVTOVAZ remains their main customer, but the manufacturer plans to expand the list of consumers and product range. The Turks intend to become suppliers to other Russian car manufacturers, including those with foreign participation.
The activity of Turkish nationals in the special economic zone “Alabuga” was confirmed by the Industrial Development Fund, which financed the new venture. In June, Coskunoz Alabuga already delivered the first batch of suspension parts for LADA Vesta to AVTOVAZ. A line for the production of similar components for Grants is planned to be launched in the near future.
Investments in the project exceeded one billion rubles. The equipment “Coskunoz Alabuga” allows you to make stamped and assembled metal parts of the suspension and bridges from one piece. Production is 100% localized in Russia and the capacity is 14 million units per year.
The Turks have been present in Russia for ten years and successfully supply parts for cars and commercial vehicles. Their customers included Ford Sollers, Mercedes-Benz, KamAZ, PSMA Rus, Volkswagen and even the luxury Aurus.
