Why “native” batteries last longer in cars than store batteries
Today, many drivers pay attention to the fact that batteries purchased at car dealerships discharge much faster than their “original” batteries, that is, those that were installed at the factory when the car was assembled. About why this is happening, the portal “AvtoVzglyad” says.

Interestingly, the owners of budget cars were much luckier in this matter than the owners of premium cars. Indeed, in expensive cars there are a large number of energy consumers, and this, of course, affects the battery life. However, the trend is unchanged. If the most common factory-installed lead-acid batteries work under the hood for 4 years, then new ones from the store – no more than 2-3 years.

The fact is that manufacturers of vehicles and batteries are bound by strong contractual obligations. And if there is something wrong with the quality, the factory simply refuses to allow the supplier to offer a product that does not meet the standards.

And the technical centers of car companies conduct battery tests in advance. As a result, quite strict requirements are being developed, which each batch of spare parts entering the conveyor must meet.

But with wholesale and retail chains, the selection system is much more loyal or does not exist at all. Merchants are limited to basic checks only, as the volumes they sell are small.

Delivery and storage of goods contributes to this. When the technology breaks down, the batteries run out much faster. But don’t throw them away! Therefore, the “chargers” hastily “bring to life” and vtyuhivayut gullible citizens.

We also note that the service life of the car has long been calculated. In Europe, this is 5-8 years, so many spare parts manufacturers are guided by such a time. It is simply not profitable for them to produce batteries that can last eight to ten years. And by reducing the resources of the product, there is a good saving, which allows you to keep prices low.

Which type of battery should you choose so that it lasts longer? It makes sense to pay attention to products with EFB technology (4-5 years) or the so-called AGM batteries (6-8 years). True, they have one significant drawback – the high cost.
