How motorists get insidious fines from the traffic police for parking in a permitted place
“Parking fines” can be called one of the most annoying types of punishment for traffic violations by drivers. Most of them are issued because of the carelessness of the driver, or because of the rules he forgot.

The vast majority of “steersmen”, looking for a parking space, are mainly guided by road signs. Allowing or prohibiting parking in a specific place. Especially advanced motorists remember something about the marking along the curb and know exactly what this means for parking. For example, a standard driver, seeing the beloved sign with the letter “P” and parking rectangles marked on the asphalt (or a dotted line at a distance of a few meters along the curb), puts his vehicle there without hesitation. I made sure in advance that there is no “handicapped” sign on the roadway at this place. And he goes about his business, being calm about the full observance of the law by his actions.

And then from the website of the public services or in a specialized application that tracks traffic police fines, he receives a notification about a parking fine. Unjustified fines are of course not a fantasy. But in this case it’s not about them.

Upon further investigation, such ‘letters of happiness’ appear not to have been issued for the car park itself. The photographic images of such violations show that the wheel (or wheels) of the car is on the markings indicating the parking space. Few drivers, when placing the car in such locations, pay attention to such trifles.

Drive with a wheel on a white stripe on the pavement or leave the car slightly diagonal to the marked rectangle – but who pays attention to that anyway? We answer: if employees of municipal “parking” departments do not have enough protocols (not enough to meet the planned objectives) or if the traffic police raid parking lots, they even look at it.

The nuance is also that in order to receive such a fine, the driver does not have to turn the steering wheel directly on the marking line. It is enough to position the car so that the bumper of the vehicle hangs over it. Since this piece of plastic is an integral structural part of the car, it should also be located within the parking lot and not “go beyond the boundary”.

There is one consolation: the fine for this type of violation is not particularly high: only 500 rudders under Part 1 of Art. 12.16 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for non-compliance with road sign and marking requirements. And one more side note: you can only get such a fine if the parking lot where you left your car is on the roadway. On the so-called adjacent area, the car can be thrown with impunity, spitting on any lines on the pavement. This also applies to the yard of the high-rise and the parking lot for the shopping center. No parking fines apply to you.
