The future Chery crossover, codenamed T28, expected to premiere in April next year, was spotted during road tests. From the photos you can see that it is noticeably larger than the Tiggo 9: the wheelbase is about three meters and the body length is about five! The car is heavily ‘wrapped’ in camouflage foil. Still, it is clear that the exterior contains many features borrowed from the Tiggo 9: the front profile, the vertical radiator grille, etc. However, there are also obvious innovations – for example in the design of wings and doors.

Chinese sources suggest that the new product is based on the chassis of the T2X family – Chery’s own “trolley” for medium and large crossovers with internal combustion engines and hybrid power units. When the T28 appears on the market under any name, it will be offered to consumers with both types of power plants. In the first case, the car is powered by a 2-liter gasoline turbo engine with a power of 261 hp. Of. combined with a seven-speed ‘robot’ or an eight-speed ‘automatic’.

The PHEV version will have a combustion engine of a similar volume, complete with an electric motor of yet unknown performance and a three-speed DHT gearbox.
