The opening of a new toll road took place last Saturday. The rates announced after the solemn ceremony expectedly left drivers in shock and awe. The AvtoVzglyad portal is also perplexed: is the construction of modern highways really intended to improve the lives of ordinary Russian drivers?
As recently as September 9 this year, Vladimir Putin and Sergei Sobyanin opened a new highway in a solemn atmosphere: Bagration Avenue in Moscow. It stretched from the Third Transport Ring in the Moscow city area to the Moscow Ring Road, where it smoothly integrated into the Northern Bypass of Odintsovo. Need something? Of course it is necessary – only a fool would argue. The capital is choked with endless traffic jams caused by a lack of roads. But for some reason, every good business in our country immediately turns into its opposite.
Not functional and expensive
First of all, the lack of conferences to important destinations within Moscow is surprising. For unknown reasons, there are no interchanges with Minskaya Street, with Rublevskoe Highway and even with the North-Western Expressway. That is to say, at least for a while, the new highway will serve only two purposes: kicking out motorists who want to leave the city, and conversely, welcoming those who are eager to return to the city. city.
But that’s not the most important thing. The price of the problem is what immediately stuns you. For a meager 22 kilometers, drivers have to pay 600 rubles. Dear gentlemen of JSC “New Quality of Roads”, have you not priced too little there? Maybe increase it to a few thousand, why be shy? Ordinary motorists will take your wonder road only as a last resort. Those who use it regularly will not notice a difference and you will triple your income without lifting a finger.
Vice President of the National Automobile Union Anton Shaparin spoke to the BFM.ru portal in approximately this spirit: “The toll highway rates now being approved in Moscow, both for the high-speed diameter and for the new route – Kutuzovsky’s backup – are unaffordable. They make the road exclusively for luxury citizens, for whom throwing away 1.5 thousand rubles every day during a tour is not a problem at all.
This road does not do the average motorist in Moscow any good. The traffic it will divert to itself is absolutely minimal and has no special impact on the traffic situation. I am sure that the fare should be reduced, not higher than 100 rubles, then this road will bring many benefits to Muscovites. At the same time, it will be possible to develop it by increasing the number of exits to the city and other streets, because now there are only a few of them, the road was built exclusively as an opportunity to quickly jump out of the city from Moscow.“
Not for the faint hearted
It seems to me that Mr. Shaparin is a dangerous carrier of extremely inflammatory thoughts that directly contradict the basic guidelines implemented by the regional authorities. In their opinion, only a select number of people should move quickly, comfortably and safely. The fate of the remaining blue-legged people is stuck in traffic jams and dirty car sharing, where their children may accidentally encounter a needle from a syringe with medicine or hepatitis that someone has forgotten.
What is our evidence? Yes please. For travel from Moscow to Arzamas along the new M12 toll highway, the driver is asked to pay 2,800 rubles, although recently it was only four to five hundred. But the road was presented as part of the ‘Europe – Western China’ route. With such rates, a trip to the Celestial Realm could cost an average monthly salary.
And M11? There for trips to Solnechnogorsk near Moscow on weekdays you are charged 900 rubles, on weekends – 1150. And this despite the fact that for 2400 rubles you can rush along the entire 684-kilometer Moscow-Petersburg road. Why is that? Yes, because Sheremetyevo. Anyone who is late for a plane will pay off any amount.
Watching this celebration of life, Avtodor grabbed his head and realized how much he had messed up with the fares for the M4 Don. After all, in 2021 you could go to Krasnodar on a weekend for a measly 1,920 rubles. Now the same road will lighten your wallet again with 3510 – and this is on weekdays.
Two unpleasant assumptions
If anyone still doubts the anti-national activities of the structures responsible for road infrastructure and ensuring the mobility of citizens, then they should be reminded of the non-orthodox rates for parking in Moscow, which are within the TTK 450 ₽/hour. , and in the Moscow region the price rises to ₽600/hour.
In general, either the ordinary motorist is openly mocked and milked like a cash cow, or our officials even consider it their duty to forcibly transfer all car owners (with a few exceptions, of course) to public transport.
