Russian car and other motorcycle dealers have changed their appearance and passwords. Instead of the inscriptions in a foreign language that have already become familiar to us, such as Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti and other Porsches, the signs are now full of an unfamiliar and not always understandable set of letters such as “Changan”, “Haveil” and “Omoda”. It is not easy to get used to this right away. And in order not to confuse the average person at all with cunning “overseas” (read Asian) names, various abbreviations are used. Like CFMoto for example.

The mysterious-looking sign ‘Atvarmor’ is a more than strange name, you have to admit. But it turns out that the first three letters are nothing more than ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle), a very fashionable and growing transportation category for active recreation and entertainment. But the most important thing here are the motorcycles. Many of them. An experienced eye even noticed the now rare ‘approved’ cars such as the BRP Can-Am. Unfortunately, however, the price is prohibitive and completely indecent given the current exchange rate of the ruble.

But motorcycle manufacturers from the Middle Kingdom are satisfied with both the price and the design with technology. At one of the recent summer festivals, your correspondent spotted a very nice sports motorcycle from the CFMoto brand. By the way, this company is already among Russian motorcyclists thanks to the widespread use of advanced technical solutions. In particular, motorcycles from well-known companies – the Japanese Kawasaki and the Austrian KTM.

If anyone does not know, the Chinese company CFMoto (full name Zhejiang Chunfeng Power Co., Ltd) was founded not so long ago – in 1989. To this day it produces various types of motorcycles and even yachts, and in recent It has been a commercial partner of the Austrian KTM for 12 years. This is true, a few words for reference as we try to adapt to new market trends.

So 450 SR. The first thing you notice is the sharp and fast, even ‘bad’ design. Sharp lines, a sleek silhouette, aggressive, smart-looking fairings, barely noticeable small wings and curves – it is immediately clear that the sports bike has been blown into a wind tunnel, and more than once. Some of the plastic is made to resemble carbon – it looks cool, and the price isn’t as high as real carbon fiber in space.

All optics are LED, of course, with a very bright, clear beam and daytime running lights that wink in greeting when you turn the key in the ignition. Yes, yes, the good old key is inserted into the good old lock and the indicators have to be turned off by pressing manually – old fashioned! By the way, partly ‘analogue’ is now even in fashion.

The 5-inch digital display resembles a horizontally placed overseas gadget with a gnawed apple on the back panel; all values are simply easy to read, under all weather conditions. This is not surprising, because as you know, no matter what, everything is done in China. By the way, I was pleased with the build quality of CFMoto – the plastic is well made, all parts fit together well, there are no unnecessary holes or protruding wires.

Despite the modest specified volume of 450 cm3, the engine sounds good – thanks to the standard sporty exhaust system. Here you need to understand that the CFMoto 450 SR engine actually has 650 “cubes”, it is only a little deformed or, as they say, “strangled”, and the “heads” are different. This solution allows you to keep the price at a reasonable level and at the same time increase the resources of the unit.

The red limit zone starts at 10,000 rpm, and here Liter fans, who are used to revving their engines up to 17,000 rpm, will of course make me laugh. However, you shouldn’t look down on CFMoto: the ‘heart’ still comes from Japan. And Kawasaki motorcycles, as you know, have a rather sharp temperament and a really explosive temperament.

Here too with an apparently modest average volume and figures that are not very impressive at first glance: 39 Nm at 7600 rpm and 47 liters. Of. — The CFMoto weighing 161 kilograms picks up the first “hundred” in less than 5 seconds, and its maximum speed reaches a wonderful figure of 200… Yes, of course, it cannot compete with the more powerful “Japanese” copies , and that is Also not necessary: it is enough for a city rider.

The gearbox has 6 gears, so if you wish, you can drive smoothly and elastically in a higher gear. Although the “correct” operation of the engine is somewhere in the region of 5000-7000 rpm: that is, in the center of Moscow most often the 2nd and 3rd gears are used. The exhaust note is rumbling and bassy, but not loud – it doesn’t irritate anyone, although it is audible.

I was especially pleased with the brakes. The mechanisms of the world famous company Brembo, despite the presence of only one disc on the front wheel, work phenomenally – if you are not used to it, you can even overdo it and “fly” over the handlebars. Personally, I braked with the extreme phalanx of the middle finger at the front and at the same time with the rear paw – a long-standing habit of imitating the combined deceleration system for the sake of my own safety. Well, the presence of ABS is not even worth mentioning: for at least 10-12 years, all production motorcycles in the world have been equipped with it as standard.

So what do we have? A lightweight motorcycle with a low center of gravity and quite decent dynamics, which is almost certainly capable of making young people of both sexes fall in love with it. Yes, yes, even a fragile girl can easily handle the CFMoto 450 SR, especially since Russian motorcycle ladies love “sports”. And the clutch lever is so soft and smooth that sometimes you just don’t notice it – you don’t even have to apply force. And every rider will be able to handle the daring, but still quite tamed character of the “Siefka”.

And finally, the best thing and, to be honest, a rare phenomenon in our time, is the price. For the CFMoto 450 SR the dealer asks 649,900 rubles, which is more than enough for a good, well-customized motorcycle. Well, if you want to save money, then you can look at the 250 and 300 cc models – they are significantly cheaper. It’s true, they won’t drive so fervently…
