FSUE NAMI plans to organize the production of electronic components for anti-lock braking systems and stabilization systems for cars at the former Robert Bosch Samara factory. Its production should start in mid-2024.

As TASS reports with reference to the General Director of FSUE NAMI Fedor Nazarov, the company will launch the production of ABS and ESP early next year, the development of which will be carried out together with a certain “eastern partner”. The project is divided into three phases: the last is to achieve a level of system localization of 100%, the top manager noted.

The former Robert Bosch Samara factory, where production of electronic assistants will begin, was renamed “American innovative components.” FSUE NAMI has already reached an agreement on the supply of systems to Russia’s AVTOVAZ, and GAZ Group, Sollers and Haval have also expressed interest.

— We have a commitment to produce 500,000 systems. I think next year we will not do so much, but in a year – yes, Nazarov emphasized.

According to him, NAMI cannot design and produce an ABS system now. However, in mid-2024, when production starts, the research center plans to start using Russian software control.
