
China’s passenger car exports to Russia increased 5.7 times from January to July this year, reaching 405,000 units. However, what is even more impressive is the growth of the market “in money terms” – 7.5 times, to $5.65 billion.
As TASS reports, citing data from the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China, more than 405,000 passenger cars were delivered from China to Russia in the first seven months of 2023. This is 5.7 times higher than the figure for the same period last year. In value terms, the purchases of the ‘Chinese’ increased 7.5 times – to 5.65 billion dollars.
In terms of the import volume of Chinese cars, Russia ranks first in the world: our country accounts for about 14% of car exports from China in the mentioned period. In July, compared to June, the delivery volume increased by 2% – to 79.6 thousand units, and “in money” by 3.4% – to $ 1.06 billion. In addition to a steady increase in numbers, there has also been a noticeable increase in model range.
According to Chinese customs data, in 2022 China exported 153.2 thousand passenger cars to Russia for $1.68 billion – three times more than in 2019. The cost of deliveries increased by more than 3.8 times.
