The French company Renault has published teasers of a compact crossover, which is made from the third generation Sandero Stepway model and was planned for production at AVTOVAZ. The official premiere of the new product will take place on October 25.
Judging from the first photos, the Kardian crossover, which Renault presents as a “B-segment urban SUV”, differs in body design from the Sandero Stepway. The car gets headlights made according to the current fashionable design: with diode daytime running lights at the top and main headlights at the bottom. The SUV has a new radiator grille and C-shaped lamps, as well as original bumpers, hood and doors.
Technical characteristics of Kardian have not yet been revealed – it is only known that the new product is built on the CMF-B platform and that its total length will be “less than 4.15 meters”. For comparison: the Sandero Stepway is 4.09 meters long. The interior of the crossover also remains a mystery – most likely it will be borrowed from the “donor”.
Before Renault left Russia, the Kardian model was supposed to be produced in Russia – on the AVTOVAZ site. The world premiere of the crossover will take place in Brazil.
