Cameras near Moscow were trained to fine drivers for a new traffic violation

In the Moscow region, roadside cameras will appear that will record violations of stopping and parking rules at public transport stops. It turns out that in some places of the Moscow region, drivers spontaneously began to arrange parking there.

As Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports, citing the Ministry of Transport of the Moscow Region, cameras will appear first at the most parked stops – according to statistics from regional authorities, they are located in the Leninsky District and Odintsovo.

– In November, cameras will start recording violations in the residential complexes “Prigorod Lesnoye” and “East Butovo”, as well as in the village of Razdory. In total, the intention is to organize a similar check at twenty stops in six city districts, the department emphasizes.

Parking at public transport stops is prohibited, but the shortage of parking spaces in densely populated residential complexes forces motorists to leave their cars literally everywhere. As a result, cars prevent buses from arriving at stops, transport falls behind schedule and the number of accidents increases.

Previously, only traffic police officers could impose a fine for parking at public transport stops – for this offense you have to waive 1,000 rubles, and in Moscow and St. Petersburg the fine is 3,000 rubles. Now this process will be automated.
