As RT reports, Deputy Evgeny Fedorov has sent an appeal to Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev with a proposal to determine the conditions for charging paid parking and benefits in Russian cities at the federal level. In his speech, he noted that the costs of services and categories with preferences are now determined exclusively by municipal authorities and have no federal regulation – therefore they can vary significantly.
For example, today one city offers free parking for large families, but another city does not, and you cannot take advantage of the benefits there. And even if they exist, they only apply to local residents. And this, according to the deputy, is unfair.
“In this regard, I ask you to instruct us to consider the feasibility of developing a federal law to adopt uniform rules for establishing rates for paid parking, determining preferential conditions for certain categories of citizens and creating a federal preferential permit for the use of paid parking,” Fedorov writes in an appeal to the Ministry of Transport.
