The Roll-Royce Ghost Black Badge luxury sedan received another limited edition from the factory’s Bespoke division. The Ekleipsis Private Collection version is released in a limited edition of 25 pieces.
The main feature of the exclusive Ghost is the deep dark copper color of the Lyrical Copper body. It is combined with bright orange inserts in the bumper, in the center of the rims and brake calipers. The distinctive stripe along the bodywork on the fenders and doors is also decorated in the same color. The manufacturer notes that this decor is inspired by pulses of sunlight during a solar eclipse.
The interior of the Ekleipsis features 1,846 laser-etched stars on the front and the traditional Rolls-Royce “starry sky” on the ceiling, but the LEDs work differently to other versions. When opening the doors and getting into the cabin, passengers will see all phases of the solar eclipse in the “sky” – the light display lasts 7 minutes and 31 seconds, which corresponds to the maximum duration of the astronomical phenomenon.
After the light show, the diodes on the ceiling work as usual. The company emphasized that it took engineers a full year of work to create the new feature. Under the hood of the Ghost Black Badge Ekleipsis hides the same 6.75-liter V12 with 600 hp, combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
All 25 copies of the Ekleipsis special version were sold out before the official premiere and the cost of the car was kept secret.
