Commercial director of the Moskvich plant Alexander Migal said that the company will start the assembly of small button cars (CKD) next year. The first step on this path was the transition to independent body welding.
As TASS reports with reference to the commercial director of the Moskvich plant, the level of localization of cars of the revived domestic brand is constantly growing. Today, for example, the ERA-GLONASS system and the production of process fluids have already been mastered.
— We work according to the plan outlined earlier and comply with all obligations imposed by us. And now we have moved to the next stage: we have started welding bodies in the factory. We have already installed a new, modern robotic system of welding equipment, specially made for the Moskvich plant. The first test bodies have already been welded and the equipment is being configured,” said Migal.
He also added that the factory plans to start painting cars in the near future. In 2024, Moskvich’s level of localization will increase by attracting a wider range of local suppliers with all-Russian components, including body parts, power controls and braking systems. In addition, the intention is to develop the production of rechargeable batteries.
