The State Duma is considering a bill under which the obligation to issue an OSAGO policy for a car for drivers entering Russia from Ukraine, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics will be canceled for three months from the time of arrival at the territory of the Russian Federation. This could be a visiting Ukrainian or a person who has been officially granted refugee status. In the event of an accident committed through the fault of such a driver, the injured party must apply for compensation “from the insurance company”.
And the Russian Union of Auto Insurers (RSA) will reimburse the damage caused by an uninsured Ukrainian accident worker. Currently, the PCA pays for the perpetrator of the accident, who is not insured under OSAGO, only under the article “health damage”. In the case of a Ukrainian driver, full compensation is expected for the damage caused by him, including damage to the victim’s property.
The pension fund will cover the costs of the RSA for road accident payments of Ukrainians, and the money intended for Russian car owners affected by Ukrainians will be transferred directly from the budget of the Russian Federation to its accounts.
