45% of Russians plan to buy a car in the coming years; 82% of them are considering secondary market options. 42% look for a car at dealers, 30% through friends.

Respondents tend to buy vehicles from car dealers because 35% of sellers hide their car’s shortcomings, and 21% even consider it ideal and do not negotiate. 16% see a danger in buying from someone else, and 15% note that it is impossible to negotiate viewings with sellers. 39% of respondents turn to dealers because of the opportunity to trade in a car and get a discount, 24% are attracted by the opportunity to quickly buy a car.

The survey of 1,254 respondents was conducted in October 2023 in all regions of Russia.
