BMW showed an official photo of the new generation “five” station wagon for the first time. The Bavarians also revealed the sales schedule for the five-door 5 Series in several countries – the Germans and Americans will be the first to buy the “barn”.
Judging by the photo published by the BMW press service, the design of the car is made in the corporate identity of the brand. The front of the “five” in the Touring version will look exactly the same as that of the sedan, the silhouette of the new product is generally similar to other Bavarian station wagons, and the tailgate will have a small spoiler.
BMW confirmed at the same time that the station wagon will receive the same set of power units offered for the sedan – this is a line of gasoline engines and several hybrid units. Naturally, the ‘five’ will also appear in the electric version of the i5 Touring – for the first time in the model’s history. But not for everyone – the “battery” modification will be available only in Europe, Japan and Taiwan, according to preliminary data. It is also possible that a ‘charged’ version will appear: the M5 Touring.
Sales of the BMW 5 Series Touring in Germany start on October 21. A week later, the new product will be released in the United States and sales will begin in other countries on November 25.
