Why are Russian drivers re-soldering the dashboards of their cars en masse?
On September 1, new traffic rules came into force in Russia, according to which sanctions will be imposed on drivers who use tires out of season and drive with a defective ABS system. Everyone was especially enthusiastic about the point about ABS, the operation of which is periodically checked by traffic police officers. But as you know, our hands are not for boredom. Details are on the AvtoVzglyad portal.

There is a stir on forums and communities on the World Wide Web: craftsmen from all over Russia share their experiences with deceiving the ABS sensor, which in the event of a malfunction insidiously lights up on the dashboard and tells the traffic policeman who accidentally stopped a citizen for a fatal violation of the law.

Why exactly ABS made the legislators so enthusiastic, and not, for example, SRS, and how the established production of LADA Granta without ABS fits into this at all, is a complex and debatable question, but the fact remains: from now on we cannot drive with a defective anti-lock braking system . And solving it is even more difficult.

The fact is that ABS is a circuit made up of many components in the car, and it can cost a fortune to repair it. Especially when it comes to a used foreign car. Therefore, without hesitation, many drivers simply removed the dashboard and unscrewed the light bulb. To do – for an hour! We rode in a Zhiguli without any “abes”, and nothing happened, we survived. But our police weren’t born with assholes either: they’re on the same forums.

The owner of a shabby old lady may be asked to turn off the engine and then start it so that the light comes on and then goes out. Didn’t catch fire? Hello good evening! And the cunning people, of whom we have the majority, resort to tricks: to deceive the guard, they solder the dashboard and power the ABS lamp through the sensor to monitor the amount of engine oil in the engine.

Do they turn on and off at the same time? Life hack? No, it’s a hoax. Moreover, itself. In winter, a working system will be a great help, and on an autumn road flooded with water and covered with leaves it will not be superfluous. There are never too many brakes. An experienced driver knows this, but an inexperienced driver, of whom there are so many on the modern road, will not understand. And when he realizes it, it will be too late. And it’s good if it only costs hardware repairs, and not hospitals.

Of course, I would like to talk about the need to keep the car in good condition, to convey the main connection between the brakes with the entire system surrounding them and road safety, to express concern, but the truth lies elsewhere : there is no money, but you have to drive. 90% of the Russian population lives in this paradigm. And we must first of all fight against employment and low wages, then the cars will be repaired and domestic tourism will begin to develop. Exactly in this order.
