The cost of cars recommended for government purchases from the list of the Ministry of Industry and Trade will be the object of close attention of the department. They fear that these models could become significantly more expensive after inclusion in the register.

As Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports, after the publication of the list of machines recommended for government purchases, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will monitor their costs. “Current prices for cars are recorded and published weekly by Rosstat, which makes it possible to comprehensively monitor changes in the price level on the car market, preventing them from becoming unreasonably high,” the department emphasizes, adding that they “in be in close contact” with both manufacturers and the dealer community on this topic.

The ministry noted that the production volume of the listed vehicles should be more than sufficient to meet the procurement needs of government agencies.
