Living, smoke chamber: how to extend the life of an engine with a carburetor
Despite the fact that in our country the vast majority of cars are equipped with injection engines and diesel engines, a significant part of cars are still cars with carburetor engines. The fuel components of such engines require special care, the nuances of which were examined by AvtoVzglyad.

According to experts, the number of such cars in our country could reach several million. What is the survivability of such force units? Auto engine repair specialists note that the main advantage of the carburetor supply of gasoline to the intake tract is its functional simplicity and, as a result, reliability and ease of maintenance.

Furthermore, under some operating conditions, carburetors even perform better than other “injection” fuel systems. However, carburetor equipment also has clear disadvantages. First of all: the presence of moving elements for mechanical control of mixture formation.

During use, these parts not only wear out, but also become quite dirty. Which ultimately leads to serious problems in the operation of other engine parts. By the way, the carburetor is mainly contaminated by bad fuel. The impurities in such fuel form carbon deposits and an oil film on the parts.

Other negative factors can also have a harmful effect on the carburetor. For example, incorrectly selected engine oil or its excess in the lubrication system, which over time also leads to the appearance of dirt and carbon deposits in the fuel system. In particular, excess oil clogs the sensors and throttle valve in the intake manifold.

The consequences of all this will not be long in coming. In addition, there can be a lot of them: increased fuel consumption, carbon deposits on spark plugs and unstable operation of the engine at idle. You can add to the pile the difficulty of starting a cold engine (especially in winter) and a noticeable decrease in standard power.

To avoid such problems, the carburetor must therefore be maintained and cleaned regularly (at least once a season). To carry out this procedure efficiently, it is necessary to follow a series of actions. First, the carburetor is “washed” from the outside, then the internal jets and dampers are cared for. The built-in mesh filter also needs to be treated.

All of the above actions are usually carried out with special sprays or aerosol cans. Today, their largest share consists of domestic products. By the way, some of them are in no way inferior to their imported counterparts in terms of their performance indicators. A worthy example is the Ruseff aerosol carburetor cleaner.

As the practice of using the drug has shown, the aerosol shows high efficiency in carrying out both the internal cleaning of the carburetor and its external treatment. The product quickly and efficiently cleans fuel supply channels and chambers, jets, throttle valve, crankcase ventilation valve and completely restores the mobility of the air damper. Cleaning the carburetor dissolves and removes all types of contaminants: resins, carbon deposits and other harmful deposits formed during operation.

Thanks to its well-known properties, the standard power of the engine is almost completely restored, cold starting is improved and fuel consumption is normalized. In addition to the planned seasonal procedures, it is recommended to use Ruseff carburetor cleaner regularly as an effective preventative.
