The Chinese company Chery announced the separation of electrified and pure electric models into a separate sub-brand NEV. The expansion into the Russian segment of the hybrid and electric train market will start with the Tiggo 7 Pro Plug-in Hybrid and Tiggo 8 Pro Plug-in Hybrid.
As representatives of Chery told the AvtoVzglyad portal, the Chinese decided to separate hybrid and electric cars in a separate direction. The new sub-brand was simply named NEV – New Electric Vehicles, or “New Electric Vehicle”. By 2025, a quarter of all models produced by the brand should be electrified in some form – so Chery hopes to capture 2.5% of the market. Russia and the UAE have been mentioned as priorities for the implementation of environmentally friendly technologies.
Official Russian prices for rechargeable hybrids of the Tiggo family have also been announced. The “junior” Tiggo 7 Pro Plug-in Hybrid costs 3,990,000 rubles, but so-called support is promised – bonuses for credit and trade-in in the amount of up to 360,000 rubles. The “senior” Tiggo 8 Pro Plug-in Hybrid costs 5,199,000 rubles. The amount of “support” is up to one million rubles. Both hybrids will only be available in the maximum configuration.
