Judging from the artistic sketch, the new Crafter will have a new multimedia system with a 12.9-inch touchscreen in the style of the latest Volkswagens, and for the first time in the history of the model it will have a digital instrument cluster with different display modes for information. The figure shows that the multimedia interface is borrowed from the recently introduced electric car ID.Buzz.
The interior of the Crafter will lose almost analogue buttons – the gearbox selector goes to the steering column and the parking brake will be made electromechanical to free up space around the driver’s seat and thereby expand the range of adjustments. Finally, a new steering wheel has appeared in the cabin and the list of driver assistants will be significantly expanded.
Of course, the van also gets simpler versions with an analogue instrument panel and a conventional gear lever on the center console. The engine range will retain diesel engines with power from 140 to 177 hp, a new 8-speed automatic transmission and different types of drivetrains will appear.
