The Chinese brand Geely will bring four new models to Russia next year. These include two compact crossovers Starray and Atlas Cool, a mid-size SUV Okavango L and a Preface L sedan.
According to the Chinese Cars portal, Geely shared its plans for the next year at the Russian-Chinese Automotive Forum. The Starray crossover in China is known as Boyue L, also known as Atlas L. Recently the model was announced for the Kazakhstani market, and under the name Atlas – most likely this will be the name in the Russian Federation. The car is built on the CMA platform, known from Tugella and Monjaro. Two engines are offered: a 1.5-liter with an output of 181 hp. Of. and a 2.0-liter engine with 218 hp. Both are linked to a 7-speed robot. Drive is front wheel drive only.
Atlas Cool is similar to the aforementioned Atlas L, but looks sportier: it has different optics, a radiator grille and a larger angle of the rear roof pillars. The dimensions of the machine are 4510 x 1865 x 1650 mm – it is slightly shorter, but wider than the current Atlas Pro. The crossover is also built on the CMA platform: it is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine that produces 181 hp. Of. and a “robot” with 7 gears. Drive is front wheel drive only.
The medium-sized 7-seater crossover Okavango L will already be renewed in Russia. The dimensions of the car are 4860 x 1910 x 1770 mm with a wheelbase of 2825 mm and it has a 2.0 liter engine with a power of 218 hp. Of. and a dual-clutch ‘robot’, but the drive is also front-wheel drive.
Finally, the fourth new product will be the Preface sedan, which has been long awaited in Russia. After the restyling, it should also be available on the domestic market. The four-door has a fairly modest and sober design and has dimensions of 4825 x 1880 x 1469 mm. In China, Preface is equipped with a NordThor hybrid power plant based on a 1.5-liter engine.
