Changan will split the UNI family into a separate sub-brand

The Chinese company Changan plans to divide its model range in Russia next year into two brands: Changan itself and UNI. The second will sell the models that currently belong to the line of the same name, plus some cars from other families.

The Changan company spoke during the presentation about its plans to split the UNI model line into a separate sub-brand, a photo of which was available to the Autostat agency. Thus, the Chinese plan to attract new buyers and increase sales in our country to 180,000 cars per year. The plans are to sell 90,000 cars under each brand.

Judging from the same photo, customers under the sub-brand UNI-T and UNI-K will be offered crossovers, as well as the UNI-V liftback. In addition to them, the new brand’s line will include the mid-size Lamore sedan and the CS55 Plus SUV, which will likely change their names. Other cars from the CS family remain with Chan’an itself, along with the four-door Alsvin and Eado Plus, as well as the Hunter Plus pickup.

According to the results of ten months of this year, sales of Changan in the Russian Federation increased 17.2 times – to 33,374 cars. And the brand’s market share was 4% compared to 0.4% a year earlier, Autostat recalls.
