Nissan returns to Russia via China: the Paladin SUV was brought to us
The first car of another Chinese brand, Oting, was presented in Moscow. In January 2024, official dealers of the brand will start selling the Paladin frame SUV, made on the Nissan Terra platform.

As the importer told the AvtoVzglyad portal, the cost of the new product in the basic modification with rear-wheel drive will be 3.8 million rubles. The top version with part-time all-wheel drive, richly enhanced with all modern systems to assist the driver, costs at least 4.5 million. The price is quite a market price, taking into account the costs of its closest competitors – Naval H9 and Tank300.

Oting’s distributor is Chinese giant Sinomach – essentially a state-owned company, formerly known as China’s First Ministry of Mechanical Engineering. The group specializes in the supply and production of industrial equipment, and in addition, Sinomach is a leader in importing vehicles from the world’s largest car manufacturers into the Chinese market. And Russia, according to Fan Yongzheng, CEO of Hyperion Lising (Tianjin) Ltd. (a division of SINOMACH Automobile), the first export market for Sinomach Automobile.

Ideologically, the new SUV is quite in the spirit of the Toyota Fortuner or Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, built on the chassis of the classic Hilux and L200 pickups respectively. In addition, under the hood is a 2-liter turbo petrol engine from Mitsubishi with a power of 228 hp. Of. and 360 Nm of torque, combined with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. The company’s immediate plans include launching several more models under the Oting brand, made on the Nissan platform, and organizing their local assembly in Russia.
