The twin Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban have undergone a restyling. The exterior of the SUVs was barely noticeably retouched, but the interior got the full treatment – now the Chevrolet has an interior no worse than that of the Cadillac Escalade with the same platform.
On the outside, the updated Tahoe and its extended version Suburban can be recognized by new optics, bumpers, radiator grille, exhausts and 24-inch wheels – but as an option. But inside, the changes are visible to the naked eye: even in the basic versions of the cars there is now an 11-inch screen instead of an analogue instrument cluster and a 17.7-inch diagonal touchscreen for the multimedia system.
Instead of an awkward gear lever knob, there was a lever on the steering column, like on a Mercedes-Benz. In general, there are far fewer buttons and the freed up space on the center tunnel was used for wireless charging of a smartphone. The steering wheel is also new.
The V8 petrol engines are the same: a 5.3-litre engine with 360 hp. Of. and a 6.2-liter engine with a power of 426 hp, but the power of the 3-liter diesel engine was increased from 281 to 305 “horses”. The gearbox is a hydromechanical automatic with 10 gears. The options list now includes Air Ride air suspension with the ability to adjust the ride height, as well as electronically controlled Magnetic Ride Control shock absorbers with magnetorheological fluid. Starting in 2025, Tahoe and Suburban SUVs will also get the brand’s SuperCruise autopilot.
