The Autostat agency analyzed the residual value of budget cars that were popular on the Russian market at the age of six. The most liquid cars based on the results of the third quarter of 2023 were four foreign cars that are no longer officially sold in our country, and one domestic model: LADA Vesta. The absolute leader was the Hyundai Solaris – a six-year-old sedan today cost 151.8% of its price in the third quarter of 2017, no matter how paradoxical it may sound.
The Volkswagen Polo is in second place by a small margin with a residual value of 151.7%, and the Renault Sandero Stepway hatchback rounds out the top three with a result of 151.1%. In fourth place is the Kia Rio, which has retained 150.5% of its original price six years ago, and the domestic LADA Vesta today costs 35.2% more than in 2017.
“We would like to remind you that the reason for the high residual value is the increase in car prices, which has continued all these years and has sharply intensified in certain periods,” analysts noted.
