In normal mode, the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 develops a power of 449 hp. Of. and a torque of 560 Nm, which can be increased to 600 Nm at the touch of a button – but only for 12 seconds. The 9-speed automatic transmission of the AMG Speedshift TCT 9G has a built-in 48-volt starter generator and, in addition to recuperation, briefly adds another 23 hp to the engine. Of. and 205 Nm. The transmission distributes the torque between the axles depending on the conditions, and the CLE 53 can maintain rear-wheel drive, for example when driving evenly or in drift mode.
The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 is equipped with a fully controlled chassis: the rear wheels can turn in the opposite direction at speeds of up to 100 km/h through an angle of up to 2.7 degrees, and at higher wheels in the same direction as the front wheels, but not more than 0.7 degrees.
The shock absorbers are adaptive, with three settings with different degrees of stiffness. The stabilization system received five presets and one individual mode, in which the operation of the power source, steering and suspension can be adjusted to your own taste.
Visually, the ‘fifty-third’ differs from the ‘civilian’ versions by a radiator grille with vertical slats, aerodynamic elements and new wheels. Inside there are sports seats with red belts and an AMG steering wheel.
