In an interview with Match TV, team leader Vladimir Chagin stated frustrated that the reason for the “garage sale” was a significant cut in funding. Foreign sponsors turned their backs on the team, which previously liked to put their logo on the sides of cars.

“You can say that life forced me,” commented the seven-time Dakar winner. “I don’t see anything wrong with someone acquiring the precious sport KamAZ for their collection, and the team will get extra money to continue their activities, I don’t see anything wrong.
