The new head of the Moskvich factory could not explain what he would do

After the Moscow factory of the Renault brand unexpectedly went to the office of the mayor of the capital, the management of the latter hastened to promptly appoint a new head of this production site. According to bureaucratic logic, the authorities did not choose an experienced production worker from the car industry, but “their own man”, who turned out to be Dmitry Pronin.

As the AvtoVzglyad portal has already said, in his previous position, Mr. Pronin coordinated the activities of Deptrans “in the development of transport communications, the development of light taxi transport” and the procurement of vehicles for urban needs.

Also, the newly minted head of Moskvich was previously responsible for creating a barrier-free urban environment and for issuing “permits and re-issuing permits to carry out passenger and luggage transportation activities by passenger taxis in the city of Moscow.”

In general, the former “taxi driver” is used to spending more budget money than dealing with the real sector of the economy. Therefore, the first call, which Dmitry Pronin wrote for the employees of the factory, turned out to be nothing, to say the least – typical and streamlined.

“I am sure that we will be able to set up all the processes and save the Russian car industry. Together we will face the tasks set and we will actively expand the factory and develop production,” Drom quotes the end of the diatribe.

The question of why the capital needs its own car factory at all also remained without a clear argument: “This is a historic place for Moscow, and our job is to maintain and develop car production on this site,” said the ex- coordinator of Deptrans.

And, of course, the taxi specialist could not say what kind of cars the newly formed Moskvich will produce …
