More crossovers: another Chinese brand is coming to Russia

The Chinese company VGV has announced its upcoming entry into the Russian market – next year we should see two mid-sized crossovers up to five meters long and with a capacity of up to seven people. Moreover, their costs promise to surprise.

According to the press service of VGV’s strategic partner in Russia, Motor Place, the cars will have a “comfortable interior” and “advanced multimedia” in accordance with the requirements of the Russian market. Buyers can also choose between an automatic transmission and a manual transmission. As for the appearance, delivery terms and warranty, the company is keeping them secret for the time being, “it creates a little intrigue.”

— The biggest surprise for the market will be the price. In the past few years, no one else in Russia has broken into the basic price segment with a large seven-seat crossover, dominated by Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos,” says Mikhail Plotnikov, head of Motor Place.

Apparently we are talking about the U70 and U75 Plus models known on the Chinese market. Together with VGV, the company adapted the cars to Russian conditions – changes were made to the configuration, suspension design, algorithms of the engine and hydromechanical automatic transmission, the interior was modified and complete Russification was carried out . In total, more than 100 modifications have been carried out. Now Motor Place is developing a dealer network and likely certifying cars.
