Traffic has started on the first part of the Tver Northern Ring Road

Now motorists traveling from St. Petersburg can reach Bezhetsk and Yaroslavl without stopping in Tver. The total length of the first launch complex is 33.8 km. Over the course of a year and a half, 47 communications links were rebuilt, 37,400 tons of crushed stone-sand mixture and 540,000 tons of asphalt concrete were laid, 17 artificial structures were built, including a 214 m long bridge over the Tvertsa River, 1,026 light poles were built, 150 km of fencing and 218 km marker placed.

The Tver bypass will complete the construction of the M-11 Neva federal highway and make it possible to finally connect Moscow and St. Petersburg with a highway of the highest technical category IA without single-level intersections with other roads. The travel time between the capitals will be reduced from six to five hours – it will become a modern four-lane highway with transport interchanges and two multifunctional road service zones.
