In South America, the crossover is also produced under the Renault brand, and not Dacia, as in Europe. According to the Renault Brasil press service, no changes have taken place in terms of technology: the car still has the choice of a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter engine with manual gearbox or CVT, or a 1.3-liter turbo engine with CVT. The Duster did not and does not have all-wheel drive in Brazil – the car is only sold with a front-drive axle.
But the appearance was slightly updated: optics with a Y-shaped pattern, like the European Dacia, and a new radiator grille appeared. The front bumper has additional headlights, but these are all mounted elements and the bodywork remains the same.
The interior features a new instrument cluster, a larger center armrest and rear passengers now have a pair of USB ports. There are now six airbags, up from two, and the top version also features wireless smartphone charging, a surround-view system and 17-inch wheels.
Prices have, of course, risen: now Renault Duster in Brazil costs from 122,290 to 153,890 reais, or about 2.3-2.7 million rubles.
