The day before it became known that the Avtozavod St. Petersburg company (the location where Japanese Toyotas were previously assembled) had filed an application for trademark registration – most likely only for the new brand announced by AVTOVAZ last week. Now the head of the concern, Maxim Sokolov, has announced the start date for sales of these mysterious cars: spring 2024.
However, Mr. Sokolov did not go into details during an interview with the television channel Rossiya 24. He only said that the cars would be sold in LADA showrooms, but under the St. Petersburg plant’s own brand. We have already seen the logo – it is not yet possible to say that it is specifically intended for the new brand, since there is no official confirmation, but the probability is very high. But the name will be released “very soon,” according to the head of AVTOVAZ.
As for the cars themselves, the new brand’s model line should be replenished with crossovers and cars. And apparently they’ll start with SUVs. Previously, insiders reported that AVTOVAZ had agreed on a licensed assembly with Chery, and Tiggo 7 Pro is already being produced in St. Petersburg. Again, there is no official confirmation from representatives of the domestic auto giant, but most likely this will turn out to be the case. In any case, these cars have been captured on camera more than once by St. Petersburg spy photographers.
