The Zhiguli Mile speed festival, which will take place on the Togliatti embankment on the bank of the Kuibyshev reservoir, will be the site of the debut of the pre-production version of the LADA Vesta Sport station wagon. The Granta Sport series will keep him company.
According to the Quto portal, the main distance of the Zhiguli Mile will be equal to the historical length of the VAZ conveyor belt – 1433 meters, and the distance of the second route corresponds to the depth of Lake Baikal – 1642 meters. AVTOVAZ chose several models from the sports line for the races. Together with Vesta Sport and Granta Sport, the Niva Sport T2 rally-raid SUV, already known from the Silk Way rally, will take to the ice. The driver of the LADA Sport ROSNEFT racing team, Vladimir Sheshenin, will take the wheel.
Last year, on Lake Baikal, a VAZ pilot accelerated a prototype of the LADA Vesta Sport station wagon to 175 km/h over a distance of 1,642 meters – this is a track record for serial single-wheel drive cars with an engine capacity of less than two liters. Now instead of a prototype, a pre-production version will fight for the cup – apparently the Lada Sport division plans to soon present a commercial version of the station wagon to the public.
