Despite being one of the largest cloud storage services, Google Drive it didn’t offer users some important tools and shortcuts. Now, this week, an update is finally implemented with the basic features frequently requested by users. copy and paste through the labels Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V on Windows or Cmd+C and Cmd+V on Mac.

Also, you can now use the command Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V or Cmd+X and Cmd+V cut and paste folders and documents. Despite its simplicity, the new update greatly simplifies the routine of the user who previously had to move files from folder to folder. On this occasion, the Google team points out: “It saves you time by allowing you to copy one or more files and move them to new Drive locations and multiple tabs with fewer clicks.”

The copy (or cut) and paste tool isn’t the only one that has been added. Users will also be able to easily organize files in multiple locations without having to create duplicate files using the command Ctrl+C and Ctrl+Shift+V or Cmd + C and Cmd + Shift + V to create shortcuts.

Finally, according to Google, members will be able to open files or folders in a new tab using Ctrl + Enter or Ctrl+Enterso you can easily view multiple files at the same time or use different tabs to better organize files between two different folders.

The team also says the tool will be available to all Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google accounts when using Google Chrome. The changes are now available and working from Thursday (26) for Google Browser users.
