Porsche has introduced the second generation Macan. The crossover is built on the PPE electric platform and will be available in two versions: Macan 4 and Macan Turbo. Both are equipped with a twin-motor power plant, developing 408 or 639 hp respectively.

The electric Macan, which in appearance is similar to the Cayenne CoupĂ© and Taycan, received two-layer optics for the first time for Porsche – the usual headlights are now equipped only with diode running lights, and the head optics are hidden in the front bumper.

The capacity of the crossover’s traction battery is 100 kWh and can be charged from 10% to 80% in 21 minutes from an 800-volt station. It offers a range of 613 km according to the WLTP cycle for the Macan 4 and 591 km for the Macan Turbo. To reduce energy consumption, the new Macan is equipped with air flaps in the bumper, an active rear spoiler and flexible aerodynamic elements at the bottom.

The Macan 4 version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, the Turbo in 3.3 seconds. The maximum speed is 220 and 260 km/h respectively. The crossover also received ePTM all-wheel drive, PTV Plus traction vector control system with an electronically controlled rear differential, air suspension with two-valve adaptive dampers and even steering rear wheels. The trunk volume has been increased to 540 liters, and a front compartment with a capacity of 84 liters has also appeared.

The multimedia system runs on Android Automotive OS and controls the 12.9-inch instrument cluster, 10.9-inch touchscreen on the front panel and an optional 10.9-inch screen for the passenger.

Sales of the new Porsche Macan will start in the second half of next year. In the domestic market, the cost of the crossover is 84,100 euros (about 8.1 million rubles) for the Macan 4 version and 114,600 euros (10.8 million rubles) for the Macan Turbo. In Russia, meanwhile, you can still find new petrol Macans of the previous generation for sale at prices ranging from 9,800,000 to 14,999,000 rubles.
