A very curious offer appeared on one of the websites with advertisements for the sale of used cars – GAZ-24-34, 1985, the same Volga catch-up. For a restored car, the current owner asks as much as 5,900,000 rubles.

Judging by the published photos, the car is in perfect condition and the current owner explains it simply: “Restoration with craftsmanship.” However, in the description he is laconic – he only notes that he sells GAZ-24-34 at a price of 5,900,000 rubles. And the ad itself was misspelled: for example, it states a mileage of 5 km, a 100 hp 2.5-liter engine and a manual gearbox.

In fact, the Volga-Catchers, as they were popularly called, were equipped with a 5.5-liter V-shaped “eight” with a capacity of 195 liters. Of. In combination with a powerful engine, a three-speed “automatic” worked. With such units, a unique sedan for departmental services and government organizations could accelerate to 182 km / h. Other features of this modification were reinforced spars, body and suspension, power steering, expensive finishing materials, special communication systems.

Recall that GAZ-24-34 was produced in the period from 1985 to 1993. According to some reports, only 244 cars rolled off the assembly line during that time. Despite the fact that the Volga catch-up is a rather rare car (how many of the 244 cars have survived to this day?), advertisements for the sale of such copies are regularly published. Suppose that in 2020 the seller asked for 2.3 million rubles for a similar sedan, in 2021 – already 3 million.
