AvtoVAZ hosted the “Conference of Automotive Suppliers”. As the AvtoVzglyad portal became known, first there was a meeting of AVTOVAZ suppliers, and then a meeting on the development of cooperation and localization of production in the entire automotive industry of Russia.
The conference was the first public event in recent years to open a dialogue between the Russian auto giant and auto parts suppliers. Now the task of AVTOVAZ is to work substantively on import substitution and deepening of localization. This requires close cooperation with domestic partners and development of technical, scientific and industrial cooperation.
— We plan to rely on new domestic platforms, local and localized solutions and components. Our priority is technological sovereignty in terms of critical technologies and components,” said Maxim Sokolov, LADA brand head.
We add that the locomotive of the domestic auto industry plans to start LADA Largus assembly production before the end of July. The production of both Niva should be resumed a little earlier, although this should solve a number of problems.
