In the near future, due to anti-Russian sanctions, domestic carriers are unlikely to see new buses of the German brand Setra (the Germans themselves do not call it “Setra”, but “Zetra”). However, many will be curious: a manufacturer from the city of Ulm is preparing a new generation of passenger cars.
The Daimler Buses plant even started mass production of fresh Setra S500 ComfortClass and TopClass buses. There is only one important “but”: in brand photos, the front of the novelty is sealed with camouflage film, so it is simply impossible to see the nuances of the design.
In addition, representatives of the world-famous brand did not show photos of the interior, nor did they disclose technical specifications. In general, montage for montage and a full-fledged premiere is yet to come.
But the Germans boasted that they now do the assembly of each copy on a computer so that there are no manufacturing defects. This used to happen, because every Setra of the Comfort and Top classes ordered has an absolutely individual project.
But there is no new news from Russian bus manufacturers yet. Unless an average-tonnage cabover called KamAZ “Compass”, which in fact turned out to be a slightly refurbished truck of the Chinese brand JAC, will soon be able to carry passengers.
