Why is gasoline cheaper in Russia, but diesel is not?
Many have already noticed that fuel has become cheaper in Russia for the first time in many years: in the capital, AI-92 is already sold for 45-47 rubles, and the “ninety-fifth” comes over even for 49 rubles. In the area – cheaper. But what’s wrong with diesel? Since it cost its 53-54 rubles, it is worth it! There is a logical explanation for this. Details are on the AvtoVzglyad portal.

Strangely enough, the cost of petrol for people consists of the trade-in price and the added value that gas stations add to it. As you understand, rent, electricity and wages have to be paid, but no one wants to give up profits. Especially if the domestic, domestic market suddenly becomes the main source. Once the export of gasoline is blocked, you have to earn at home. And yet the price falls.

Exchange rates on the SPIMEX today look like this: a ton of AI-92 costs 39,337 rubles and falls, AI-95 – 42,877 and grows. Based on this data, we can safely assume that the gap between the “second” and “fifth” will widen. Both one and the other have the prospect of falling in price a little more, which the common user will eventually see. It is more profitable for factories to sell at discounted prices but not stop production, and since European consumers no longer want to know Russian gasoline and Asian routes have not yet been trampled, this means they will have to sell at a discount where there is certain no questions are – in the home market. So the owners of cars on the classic ICE suddenly became a little happier.

Something else is interesting: the price of diesel fuel is 54,236 per ton, which is more than at gas stations! What is the logic? And the logic is that there is something to replace Russian gasoline in the European and American markets, as opposed to “diesel”. This is due to the native oil of the Urals variety, referred to by experts as heavy, which is so necessary for diesel fuel production. Simply put, despite the bans, many countries continue to buy domestic diesel, which in turn creates demand in the stock market and keeps the price high.

However, if a generous price for diesel fuel suddenly pops up at an undisclosed gas station, there’s a good chance that instead of diesel fuel, the car will be getting nothing more than heating oil. The excise duty on it is significantly lower, which leads to an initially low purchase price: so, a liter of “stove” can be purchased at retail today for less than 34 rubles. It looks very, very attractive, but not all car engines will be able to digest this composition: for example, a highly accelerated and therefore fragile European diesel engine will not be happy with such a “dinner”. At best a flush is required and at worst a shot. The savings are not worth the candle. In a literal and figurative sense.
