After Maxim Sokolov was appointed the new president of AVTOVAZ, powerful disturbances began in Togliatti: the management structure of the company is changing, and our compatriots are actively taking the places of foreign specialists. The AvtoVzglyad portal reports the details of these reforms.

Since July 1, the number of vice-presidents at AVTOVAZ has decreased: there are eight instead of the previous sixteen. The functions of managers for quality, design, logistics, technology, product engineering, business planning, industrial services, as well as for programs and products became redundant.

Some areas were reduced to the level of directorates, others were completely abolished. The new organizational structure will accommodate deputies for strategy and technical development, sales and marketing, purchasing, finance, production and personnel. The positions of managers for social policy, external relations and interaction with shareholders, security and regime have also been retained.

It is no less curious that the functions of chief designer and chief technologist, characteristic of the USSR, returned to the factory.

By the way, Harald Grubel, who once worked as an executive vice president for engineering at AVTOVAZ, recently found a new job. He will drive the KAMA JSC, whose task is to develop and manufacture a low-cost electric car, which journalists have been nicknamed “Okoy-2022” for its compact dimensions.
