Last year, Ford launched a new generation of the Ranger mid-size pickup. And even then, representatives from Ford and Volkswagen did not hide that they would use the achievements of colleagues to create a fresh Amarok. So in fact it happened.

It should be noted that the percentage of common components turned out to be very high: the new Volkswagen Amarok got the frame, suspension, steering and most of the body parts. If you look closely, you can see that even the side mirrors and exterior handles have been adopted from the Ranger.

The only petrol version offers a 2.3-liter turbocharged Ford EcoBoost with 302 hp. Of. But diesels, it seems, are Volkswagen. This is a three-liter V6 with 238 powers, as well as a trinity of two-liter engines with an efficiency of 150, 170 and 209 “horses”.

All engines more than 200 powers are equipped with a 10-band “automatic”. But the “younger” versions rely on mechanical boxes, which can be replaced with a 6-speed automatic transmission at an additional cost.

Traditionally, in some countries, the base version will be rear-wheel drive. There are two versions of four-wheel drive: with a hard-wired front axle – cheaper, with a permanent four-wheel drive system – more expensive.
