The Russian car market, which continues its rapid decline, ranks ninth in Europe. Germany led the way. 224,558 vehicles were sold there in June 2022. That is, the decline was 18.1%, which is quite significant for the leading economy of the Old World. In other countries it is even worse.

According to the agency “AUTOSTAT”, the stagnation is spreading to literally all European countries. In France, the decline reached 14.2%, ie the French sold 171,087 cars in the first month of summer. The third result is in the UK: 140,958 cars (-24.3%).

Italy and Spain follow with 127,209 and 89,252 respectively. Italy was saved from ruin by a program to subsidize the purchase of environmentally friendly cars, which started operating in the second half of May 2022. As for Spain, judging by the numbers, it continues to slide into recession.

But even against this background, the Russian car market looks pale. According to the Association of European Businesses, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles fell to 30,000 units at 27,761 in June, down a whopping 82%.
